On Saturday June 10th, Full Gas Cycling and members of the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit User Group will be hosting their first Air Ambulance Day, with all proceeds going to London’s Air Ambulance.
London’s Air Ambulance is a charity which relies almost entirely on donations. It currently costs approximately £6 million per year to operate the service, which delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London 24/7, using a helicopter by day and rapid response cars by night or in adverse weather conditions.
As cyclists and road users we are acutely aware of the tremendous work they do and of the need to support this life-saving service. The team has treated over 40,000 patients to date.
Assisted by British Cycling’s Central Region and the generosity of London Nordic Skiers and Westerley Time Trialists (who are providing marshals and loaning us their transponder system) Air Ambulance Day will be a day of fun for everyone.
With our first race beginning at 11.00am, the day incorporates the Hillingdon Slipstreamers LAPATHON (ideal for the time-trialists amongst you) and two Regional C+ categorised circuit races hosted by Full Gas Cycling;
Refreshments will be provided by the Minet Ladies Club.
Entries are open NOW and will close on 7th June (earlier if full). Pre-entry is essential as spaces on the day cannot be guaranteed. All profits from entry fees will be given to London's Air Ambulance, including British Cycling's Regional Levies which they have kindly agreed to donate.
To pre-enter, participants are required to have a Full Racing Licence (Gold or Silver BC Membership), valid until 31st December 2018.
Once accepted, entry fees cannot be refunded if you withdraw AFTER the closing date.
We cannot respond to individual enquiries regarding availability of spaces on the day if you miss the closing date. A list of confirmed riders will appear on the BC website.
